Research Data Management Software

 

Initially limited to 6 months / Weekly working time 40 hours / Remuneration according to TV-L wage group 13 (gross salary range depending on professional experience, see renumeration table 2025)

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Further development and scientific advancement of research data management tools according to the requirements in research projects;
  • Design and implement metadata workflows that support FAIR principles, provenance tracking, and interoperability with existing research data management tools;
  • Develop, evaluate and validate software components and APIs to integrate research data management software into research infrastructures, automated pipelines and data lifecycle service;Ensure software quality and reproducibility: testing, CI/CD, containerisation (Docker), documentation, and deployment practices suitable for research environment;
  • Publish results on national and international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals;
  • Write technical reports based on the software development and methodological advances and contribute to funding acquisitions.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • M.Sc. in computer science, data science, research software engineering or a closely related research field with subjects in software engineering and machine learning
  • Experience with research software development for applications in research data management and semantic technologies (ontologies, knowledge graphs) is a plus

  • Strong skills in graphical user interface and API development using modern software development frameworks and programming languages, such as JavaScript, REACT, and Python
  • Good knowledge of backend integration, containerisation (Docker), CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • Experience in writing scientific publications
  • High level of creativity and problem-solving skills, sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Very good English language skills (spoken and written), knowledge of the German language is a plus
